February is African Heritage Month!

This year's theme focuses on Strength in Unity: Moving Forward with Purpose, Prosperity, Power and Progress. The library has some great books that showcase this theme quite well. Come check them out!

Remember to Enter the Draw!

There are some great books and gift cards for Indigo Books to be won! To participate all you need to do is to answer a few questions about some books you've sampled.                   All ballots must be turned in by Feb. 11th. Draw is Feb. 13th.

2026 TRCA

The 2026 Teen Reader's Choice nominees are ready for you to take part in the annual read, vote, share challenge. To participate all you need to do is read any of the 10 nominees. Vote for your favourite from May18th to May 22nd.

All the books can be found in your library and on SORA. 

Be sure to check the library website for upcoming jigsaw puzzles, trivia questions and word searches.

 

Enter the Draw!

 As part of Family Literacy Day, classes have the chance to enter a draw to win books and gift cards. To participate students will need to answer 3 questions relating to genres they have selected for toppings! Ballots may be picked up in the library.

 

 

Did you know that Family Literacy Day is happening this month? Since 1999, community groups across Canada observe January 27th as the day to celebrate the importance of reading and engaging in literacy-related activities as a family. Did you know that taking time each day to read or do a learning activity builds a stronger you for your future? Now that you are in the know ask yourself, how can you celebrate this day?

 The Teen Reader's Choice Awards are back for 2024! If you are in grades 7 -12 than this is for you.

 Starting next week, 10 nominated books will be available in your school library and on the Sora reading App. 

Read as many as you can and get the chance to vote for your favourite, to name 2024's TRCA winner.
